What exactly do we do?
We publish original content (i.e. books, comics, etc.) Not aiming to be edgy, just real. Real stories of real people, messes and all.
Our Pitch…
Often Christian media tries to shield its readers by “fudging” what really happens. Showing stories where, “God always heals the dad with cancer”, “unsaved friends commit their life to God before they die”, and not talking about parts of scripture that have caused contention throughout history.
Fudging the truth about reality is not what scripture tells us to do.
We aim to share stories that encourage and strengthen the readers, while acknowledging God doesn’t react the way we expect, that evil acts seem to succeed without any sense of justice, and that Christians can often be the greatest persecutors of other Christians.
Thus, Silver Wind Press was created to share stories that do just this. Write realistic stories for real Christians.
CORE
1). FEARLESS TRUTH
Being unafraid of speaking the truth about how hard reality can be, but also the truth found in scripture even if it is displeasing to some. Lying is never a good foundation for building trust with your audience.
2). THEOLOGICALLY ACCURATE
Every book is rigorously tested for accuracy to what scripture says. After all, sharing false notions about the bible is antithetical to our DNA.
3). Truth in Diverse opinions
If scripture is true, then we don’t need to hide from discussing the world views of others. In fact, we can’t properly defend our own view if we don’t understand the view of others. So our job is to also share other views as truthfully as possible as we share our own.
4). Healing Stories
Stories are medicine. They act like supplements that strengthen your emotional bones, or act like a cast for a broken leg to give it structure, or they can act like pain killers to give you endurance to get through the day. Thus, every story is a carefully designed medicinal balance to address various needs. So while not every story is made for every person (just as not all medicine is for everyone), every story is skillfully designed to provide healing for someone.
We’re a branch of The Wind Studio™, a hand drawn animation company who has a similar goal, but ours is to focus solely on Christian media for Christians (and those that want to learn more about Jesus in a more direct way).
